The day will cover aspects of antimicrobial stewardship, antimicrobial resistance and management of clinical infections. The day will focus on issues predominant in secondary and primary care. Patients with infections often present with a variety of challenges, including resistant organisms, deterioration and not responding to first line treatment, or other complications. A wide range of topical areas will be covered during the day and there will be opportunity for delegates to present their own QI work.
The aim of this symposium is to provide attendees with an update on the current antimicrobial stewardship agenda in the modern NHS and to enhance and share knowledge in the antimicrobial stewardship networks.
This event will be of particular benefit to primary and secondary care pharmacists involved in the care of patients with infections and those working in the area of antimicrobial stewardship. The event is suitable for pharmacists who have recently specialised as well as those who are working at advanced levels.
