The UKCPA Pharmacy Infection Network: Leading, inspiring and influencing all over the world.

They have raised the profile of pharmacy both within the UK and internationally, and regularly work with domestic and international organisations to continue their mission. They consistently deliver sell-out learning events, contribute to national consultations and policy development, and respond to media enquiries around infection management.

Activity highlights

The UKCPA Pharmacy Infection Network is active within UKCPA as leaders of pharmacy in the UK, and is rapidly growing its influence internationally.

The group has developed a professional curriculum in the area of antimicrobials which has been endorsed by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, Public Health England, the Scottish Antimicrobial Prescribing Group and the British Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy.

The group regularly host sessions at the prestigious Federation of Infection Societies conference. Members of the Pharmacy Infection Network committee are also regularly invited to speak at international conferences and contribute to global initiatives.

The UKCPA Pharmacy Infection Network supports the UK Antibiotic Guardian initiative, the European Antibiotic Awareness Day and the World Antibiotic Awareness Week, and have been successful in promoting these initiatives and garnering support.

Committee member Philip Howard has been elected as the President of the British Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, the first pharmacist president in its 45-year history.
