The Cardiovascular Committee were also one of the first to develop professional curricula which defines the knowledge, skills, behaviours and experiences that constitute advanced and expert practice, and contributed, along with other RPS Affiliated Partners, in developing the professional recognition process which has informed the basis of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Faculty
In 2013, the Committee launched a report calling for action from healthcare leaders across the UK to support the development of a clear patient pathway to improve the diagnosis and management of atrial fibrillation (AF). The report set out an ideal patient pathway, which supports increased diagnosis of patients with AF, appropriate prescription of anticoagulation therapies for patients at risk of stroke, and effective management of these patients through follow up.
