Join us for the UKCPA Care of older people journal club, where we will take a look at the recent peer-reviewed journal article in Age & Ageing: “The association between STOPPFall medication use and falls and fractures in community-dwelling older people”.
We’ll explore the key findings, critique the methodology, and discuss how the study findings might impact prescribing and medication review in older adults.
You don’t need any experience in critical appraisal or research methods to join our journal club – we will use the CASP checklist to guide the discussions and it will be a safe environment for everyone to learn together.
This meeting will be held on Microsoft Teams. Participants are encouraged to engage actively, so access to a camera and microphone is recommended. However, the chat function will also be available for those who prefer to contribute that way.
This journal club is open to all pharmacists and pharmacy technicians working across hospital, academia, general practice, and community pharmacy settings. Whether you specialise in the care of older people or are a generalist with an interest in improving prescribing and medication safety, this session is ideal for you.
Registration will close at midnight on Sunday 26 October 2025 or earlier if maximum capacity is reached. Should this event not reach its minimum number, the UKCPA reserves the right to cancel the webinar.
