The UK has some of the lowest breastfeeding rates globally, with eight out of ten women stopping before they want to [UNICEF]. Medication use is a key challenge, as breastfeeding parents often struggle to find clear, accurate advice about medicines or medical procedures. Although most medications are compatible with breastfeeding, conflicting or missing information can lead to unnecessary early cessation. Amanda Da Costa, Clinical Supervisor and Pharmacist Volunteer, will introduce the Drugs in Breast Milk Service and the resources available to support informed decision-making.
The aim of this webinar is to increase attendees awareness of available resources to support breastfeeding families and the importance of helping parents to meet their feeding goals.
This webinar is designed for hospital and generalist pharmacists, as well as pharmacy technicians.
