About this event

Heart failure prevalence has risen by around 25% post-pandemic and is increasing faster than other cardiac conditions. With 30–40% of patients dying within one year of diagnosis, early and effective management is critical. This webinar highlights the key role of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in optimising medicines, supporting self-management, and reducing hospitalisations. Learn how pharmacy teams across all sectors can contribute to improved outcomes through collaboration within multidisciplinary heart failure services.

Aim

This webinar will outline the management of heart failure with a reduced ejection fraction, and will be supported by case studies

Target audience

This webinar is aimed at early career pharmacists and pharmacy technicians working in hospital and generalist settings, including general practice and community pharmacy, who are involved in medicines optimisation and multidisciplinary heart failure care.

Learning outcomes

After this webinar, attendees should be able to:

  • Outline the pharmaceutical management of heart failure
  • Discuss how frequently encountered issues such as reduced renal function and hyperkalaemia may be managed in patients with heart failure
  • Demonstrate a practical understanding of the implementation of current guidelines
