This session will kick off an exciting 3 part series to build the confidence and competence of pharmacy teams in the diagnosis, assessment and management of type 2 diabetes. Before exploring the latest guideline updates, this session will revisit the essentials of diabetes care. We will review the pathophysiology of diabetes, treatment goals, and the core medication classes used in management. Practical discussion will focus on how pharmacists and pharmacy technicians can support treatment optimisation, patient education, and safe medicines use across clinical settings.
