About this event

This is webinar 1 of 3 in the Essentials series: COPD and asthma.

Refresh and update your knowledge on the latest in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)—from key clinical features and diagnosis to severity assessment and personalised management strategies. We’ll explore cutting-edge developments including biologic therapies and innovations in optimising care, such as Neighbourhood Health Services and targeted patient support. Gain practical insights from leading experts in primary care, secondary care, and strategic commissioning, and don’t miss your chance to ask them your questions in our interactive Ask the Experts Q&A session.

Aim

This webinar aims to refresh and update knowledge and skills in the management of COPD; focussing on holistic and pharmacological therapies and future developments with COPD patient care both nationally and locally.

Target audience

This webinar is suitable for secondary and primary care pharmacy professionals, particularly junior hospital and PCN clinical pharmacists as well as those seeking to refresh their knowledge in this area.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this webinar, participants should be able to:

  • Identify the key clinical features of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and describe diagnosis and assessment of disease severity.
  • Describe and advise on the current pharmacological and non-pharmacological management of COPD including consideration of the potential place in therapy of future biologics, taking into account both NICE 2019 guidelines and GOLD 2025 guidelines.
  • Discuss the future direction of optimising care such as use of Neighbourhood Health Services and targeted patient support.
