About this event

This webinar is the second of three in the Essentials series: COPD and asthma.  The speaker will refresh and update attendees’ knowledge on key clinical features of asthma, diagnosis, assessment, and management (both pharmacological and non-pharmacological) with an emphasis on the NICE AIR/MART treatment approach.  The webinar will reflect on implementation of the AIR/MART regimens; specifically successes and challenges across care settings including primary and secondary care. 

Aim

This webinar aims to refresh and update knowledge and skills in the management of asthma, focussing on AIR/MART regimen inhaler therapies, current successes and challenges with implementation of the guidelines

Target audience

This webinar is suitable for secondary and primary care pharmacy professionals, particularly junior hospital and PCN clinical pharmacists as well as those seeking to refresh their knowledge in this area.

Learning outcomes

At the end of this webinar, attendees should be able to:

  • Identify the key clinical features of asthma and describe the tests used to support diagnosis
  • Describe and advise on the current pharmacological management of asthma, specifically the preferred AIR/MART regimen treatment approach. 
  • Reflect on current implementation of the AIR/MART approach; successes, challenges and overcoming these.
