Aim

The aim of this webinar is to equip attendees with practical, evidence-informed approaches to anticoagulation in frail older adults with atrial fibrillation, focusing on frailty’s impact on risk–benefit, evidence limitations, and shared decision-making for prescribing and deprescribing.

Target audience

This webinar is designed for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who support frail and older adults with atrial fibrillation across hospital, general practice, community pharmacy, and primary care settings.

Learning outcomes:

After this webinar, attendees should be able to:

• Describe how frailty alters the risk–benefit profile of anticoagulant therapy in older adults
• Identify key limitations of RCTs and other evidence when applying findings to frail and older populations
• Apply practical approaches to facilitate shared decision-making around prescribing and deprescribing anticoagulants in this group
