About this event

This webinar provides a practical overview of Advanced Life Support for Pharmacy Professionals, focusing on the recognition and management of deteriorating patients, current ALS guidelines, cardiac arrest treatment, emergency medicines, ECG interpretation, and human factors in resuscitation. Through case-based discussions and real-world scenarios, participants will gain confidence in supporting emergency care.

Aim

The aim of this webinar is to equip attendees with the knowledge to recognise and manage deteriorating patients, understand key Advanced Life Support principles, and safely support the use of emergency medicines during resuscitation.

Target audience

This webinar is ideal for hospital based pharmacists and pharmacy technicians involved in supporting the recognition and management of deteriorating patients and emergency care.

Learning outcomes

After this webinar, attendees should be able to:

  • Discuss the principles of ALS and demonstrate knowledge of algorithms
  • Describe reversible causes of cardiac arrest
  • Describe and recognise a patient with clinical deterioration through case-based discussions
  • Identify key medications used in ALS and their roles
