This webinar will cover the following core concepts of genomics for pharmacy teams:

  1. Fundamentals of genomics.
  2. Applications of genomics in healthcare – diagnosis and treatment.
  3. How pharmacogenomics can be used to predict drug metabolism, efficacy and adverse effects.
  4. Genomics as one part of the puzzle – how genomics can support a patient centred approach to medicines use.
  5. Conversations about genomics with patients, the public, and the multidisciplinary team.

This webinar is ideal for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians across all specialist groups and sectors.

The aim of this webinar is to introduce the core concepts of genomics to improve genomic literacy for pharmacy teams.

After this webinar, attendees should be able to:

  • Describe what genomics is and the impact on healthcare.
  • Discuss how pharmacogenomics can be used to predict drug efficacy and adverse effects.
