This masterclass will focus on issues predominant in women on maternity wards as well as menopause care in clinics and outpatients settings.  Pregnancy patients coming to hospital often present with a variety of challenges, including diabetes, hypertension, or other complications. As a pharmacist you are optimally placed to intervene for the benefit of your patients and manage medication risks.

This event is suitable for pharmacists who have recently specialised as well as those who are working at early advanced levels and will be of particular benefit to pharmacists involved in providing and developing services in maternity and menopause looking after patients during the course of their reproductive life in secondary and primary care.

The aim of this masterclass is to provide the required knowledge and skills for pharmacists who are practising or involved in the care of patients during pregnancy and the menopause.

At the end of this masterclass, attendees should be able to:

  • Describe management of diabetes in pregnancy
  • Describe the management of hypertension in pregnancy
  • Describe the management of menopause
  • Outline the need for bone health assessment in women during the menopause and beyond

This is a full day event. Delegates will be expected to arrive between 9.15am – 9.30am. The day will conclude at approx. 4.30pm.
