The Dr Falk – UKCPA Gastroenterology Webinar Series consists of four webinars which will give the Pharmacist an overview of different aspects of gastroenterology in health and disease, specifically focusing on Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) and the effect of disease and surgery on drug delivery and metabolism. The practical management of IBD and the role of primary and secondary care will also be explored, along with the impact of COVID-19. The sessions aim to build on the Pharmacist’s knowledge as a series but can also be accessed as individual modules of particular interest.
The Dr Falk – UKCPA Gastroenterology Webinar Series is for any Pharmacist who is interested in learning more about IBD. You may work in gastroenterology and hepatology, general or acute medicine, emergency care, care of the elderly, GP practice or any other specialty.
The 90 mins sessions will be a mixture of didactic presentations, case studies and interactive live discussion between the speakers and participants.
By the end of this third session of four in the series, attendees will be able to:
describe the effect of GI disease on drug delivery and metabolism
explain the effects of GI surgical interventions and how they impact on drug delivery and metabolism
discuss the anatomy and physiology of the GI tract in health and Gastrointestinal disease, in particular IBD
