Awards programme

Our members also have the exclusive ability to apply for several prestigious awards which offer peer recognition of excellence in clinical pharmacy practice. Winners are presented with their awards at one of our masterclasses or at our annual conference, and are invited to present a poster of their winning work at the annual conference. We also present awards at our annual conference for outstanding conference abstracts and posters.

Current Awards

UKCPA Lifetime Achievement Award 2019 – Nominations now open.

The United Kingdom Clinical Pharmacy Association is delighted to invite nominations for the UKCPA Lifetime Achievement Award 2019. This prestigious award, now in its twelfth year, aims to recognise outstanding contributions to clinical pharmacy practice.

The selection panel will be particularly keen to reward long term achievements in developing and promoting clinical pharmacy, innovation, research and development, publication and dissemination of good practice, and peer recognition.

Nomination process
Nominees should be proposed and seconded by members of the UKCPA. Nominations should detail the nominee’s name and the reasons for the nomination in no more than 500 words. Nominees do not need to be members of the Association.

All nominations should be submitted to the UKCPA office via email to Marie Matthews: by 16th September 2019.

Award winner
The winner will be notified personally by the Chair of UKCPA and invited to attend the Pharmacy Together Conference, 8 November 2019 at The Novotel London West Hammersmith, London.

It is customary that the winner makes a short acceptance speech during the presentation of the award, highlighting their experiences and inspiring fellow practitioners to achieve great things in their careers.

The award is not limited to one recipient per year but will not necessarily be given every year; it is up to the discretion of the UKCPA selection panel whether any of the nominees should receive the award.

There are currently no awards inviting submissions.  Keep an eye out around Easter for information on our 2020 awards.

Call for abstracts for presentation as a poster at a UKCPA conference

The deadline for submitting abstracts for presentation at the Pharmacy Management – UKCPA Pharmacy Together Conference on 8th November 2019 has now closed. Authors have all been emailed.  If you are an author and you have not heard from the UKCPA, please get in touch.

Each year, the UKCPA recognises the following conference submissions:

  • Best Abstract
  • Best Poster
  • Best Pharmacy Technician Poster (NEW CATEGORY)
  • Best Poster for work done as a Pre Registration Pharmacist (NEW CATEGORY)
  • Delegates’ Choice Best Poster

By having your abstract accepted you will be able to present a poster at the conference and receive the following benefits:

  • A conference proceeding citation for your CV. All accepted abstracts which conform to the specified guidelines will be published in the Abstract Guide and online
  • An opportunity to present your valuable work to the wider pharmacy community
