The day will cover aspects of antimicrobial stewardship, antimicrobial resistance and management of clinical infections.
The day will focus on issues predominant in secondary and primary care. Patients coming to hospital with infections often present with a variety of challenges, including resistant organisms, deterioration and not responding to first line treatment, or other complications. As a pharmacist you are optimally placed to intervene for the benefit of your patients and manage medication risks.
A wide range of topical areas will be covered such as paediatric stewardship, behaviour change, new diagnostics and the whole health economy approach to collaborative working. Workshops will run in the afternoon to allow discussion with panel members.
This event has been designed for primary and secondary care pharmacists involved in the care of patients with infections and those working in the area of antimicrobial stewardship. The event is suitable for pharmacists who have recently specialised as well as those who are working at early advanced levels.
