This is a new learning event in Scotland and a repeat of the learning event held in London on 10 May 2018, created and ran in partnership with The Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
The course will provide the following learning outcomes:
- Overview of basic microbiology, and principles of treatment of infection
- The ability to describe antimicrobial stewardship principles and strategies to promote appropriate antimicrobial use within different clinical settings
- Become more confident in applying stewardship principles when managing infections within your clinical setting
The course is limited to small numbers to ensure plenty of interactive learning and focused networking opportunities.
This joint study day is a repeat of joint events in England and will link to the RPS Foundation/Advanced Practice Framework.
This course is aimed at pharmacists working within community, at a band 6-7 level in a hospital or GP practice setting, pharmacy technicians and Foundation & Advanced level 1 RPS Faculty Pharmacists, although would still be beneficial for all pharmacists looking to increase their working knowledge of AMR.
Attending this event will help you advance your professional practice and could be used as evidence in your RPS Faculty and GPhC revalidation portfolios.
Booking early to avoid disappointment is recommended.
