Our members have the exclusive ability to apply for several prestigious awards which offer peer recognition of excellence in clinical pharmacy practice. Winners are presented with their awards at one of our masterclasses or at our annual conference, and are invited to present a poster of their winning work at the annual conference. We also present awards at our annual conference for outstanding conference abstracts and posters.

Patient Safety Award 2017

The UKCPA Patient Safety Award has been designed to recognise innovative practice that meets the national agenda for patient safety.  Applications are invited from UKCPA members who have implemented practice in any sector of pharmacy with a focus around patient safety, such as: 

  •  Risk management 
  •  Adverse events and near misses 
  •  Quality of care initiatives

Biogen Multiple Sclerosis Award 2017

The 2017 Biogen Multiple Sclerosis Award is sponsored by Biogen and is designed to recognise innovation and excellence in the delivery of pharmaceutical management and care of patients with multiple sclerosis in one of the following areas: 

  •  Development of guidelines for the treatment of multiple sclerosis 
  •  Education and/or counselling of 
  • patient(s) and their carer(s) about multiple sclerosis 
  •  The role of a pharmacist in the multidisciplinary team 
  •  Management strategies for smooth transition of multiple sclerosis care across the specialist/non-specialist care interface 
  •  Use of pharmacist non-medical prescribing in multiple sclerosis 
  •  Development and implementation of shared care guidance

Astellas Antimicrobial Management Award 2017

The 2017 Astellas Pharma Ltd Antimicrobial Management Award is intended to recognise innovation in antimicrobial management. Any area of work will be considered but may include: 

  •  development and implementation of evidence based guidelines 
  •  multidisciplinary team working 
  •  education and training 
  •  audit and/or benchmarking 
  •  interventions to reduce inappropriate prescribing 
  •  data collection methodology

Call for abstracts for presentation as a poster at the UKCPA Conference 2017, Leeds

The UKCPA are now inviting the submission of abstracts for presentation at the UKCPA Conference, 24 – 25 November 2017, at The Queens Hotel, Leeds. All submissions must be made online. click here to access the online submission form.

The deadline for receipt of your abstract is Friday, 9th June 2017, at 5pm. Awards will be given for:

  • Best Abstract Award
  • Best Poster Award
  • Delegates’ Choice Award

By having your abstract accepted you will be able to present a poster at the conference and receive the following benefits:

  • A conference proceeding citation for your CV. All accepted abstracts which conform to the specified guidelines will be published in the UKCPA conference handbook and online
  • An opportunity to present your valuable work to the wider pharmacy community
